NJGSL BOARD MEETING 

Monday, April 24, 2023 

7:30pm – Location: Napa Moose Lodge

Approval of Minutes: Paul Sims made a motion to approve, Zena Page second the motion. ALL IN FAVOR of April minutes. 

 

Reports of the Board:  

  • End of Season Tournament Rules (attached) 

  • ALL IN FAVOR of End of Season Tournament Rules as stated in the attached document. 

  • Spring Fling – Saturday, May 13th 

  • Baskets delivered by 8:30am, day of event 

  • All coaches will receive evaluations for each player post season – this helps determine placement for Fall Ball as there are no on-field evaluations 

  • Equipment Return – Saturday, May 13th 

  • Put duct tape with your name on the equipment you are returning (bag, tee, bucket, etc). Clean out bags (no garbage, extra items, ONLY GEAR) 

  • Fall Ball Registration Opens June 1st – Early Bird Pricing! 

  • 4th of July Parade – TBD 

  • Open Board Positions – Nominations take place at June meeting, voting at July meeting

5/6/2023 – Coach’s Zoom Meeting (8U/10U/12U Only)

9:06am start time 

 

Attendees:

Sara Tavizon – President, Katie Newman – Secretary, Karly Michie – Member at Large, Ryan Fennie – Equipment Coordinator, Bailey Downing, Paul Sims, Lisa Lima, Mark Crocker, Chuck Olmstead, Stephen Rhinehart, Michelle Pepper, Jillian Efishoff

 

Due to unplayable/unsafe field conditions from recent and current rain, the Executive Board has made the decision to cancel all games scheduled for Saturday, May 6th. After reviewing standings for all divisions and seeing that each team has played an even number of games, the outcome of 8U and 12U would not be affected.

 

10U division: Coaches for Visit Napa Valley (Ryan Fennie) & Boardgarden (Michelle Pepper) have agreed on a coin flip to determine dugout placement (Home vs Away) for their scheduled Game 1 of the Spring Fling Tournament. 

 

No questions were asked, no issues were discussed, and all attendees were in agreement.

 

Meeting closed at 9:20am
